Webnet Frames at London Stadium
Webnet Frames for Security at West Ham United Football Club
Products: Jakob Webnet Stainless Steel Mesh – Ø 2mm x 50mm. Bespoke stainless steel frames.
The Olympic Stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London has had a legacy transformation into the London Stadium – a mixed use outdoor stadium and the home of West Ham United Football Club.
During the transformation, MMA Architectural Systems provided custom made Jakob Webnet wire mesh frames, to help secure the exit areas of the stadium. Made from marine grade 316 stainless steel, the Webnet infill was a great choice as it is weather resistant, durable and requires little to no maintenance. Featuring 2mm diameter rope with a 50mm aperture, the Webnet mesh sizing means that it is not climbable, therefore deterring anti-social behaviour.
The light, filigree design of Webnet wire mesh infill provides security without having a negative impact on the stadium’s design and does not block the flow of light or air. The Webnet wire mesh was sewn onto the frames prior to being delivered to site, therefore aiding a quick and easy installation.
Hosting football games in addition to music and sport events, the London Stadium has been designed to provide a versatile space to be enjoyed for years to come.
MMA Architectural Systems also supplied and installed Webnet wire mesh for balustrading infill at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
